Everything that changed, release after release.
v0.3.07 Chat skins and colour animations
Dress up your chat like a TV set, in bubbles or in neon, with 7 ready-made Just Chatting overlays. Animations finally change colours: a frame going from blue to orange, a pulsing glow, 10 new animations. And the “Install” button really installs the new version.
New
- Animations no longer just move layers: colours now change smoothly (shape fill, text colour, border, glow), along with corner radius, border width, blur, brightness, saturation, hue… Set a key, pick a colour in the Style panel, set another key and another colour: your frame goes from blue to orange, in Régis and in OBS.
- 10 new ready-made animations, including a new “Colours and light” group: Régis colours (blue ↔ orange), Neon colours, Rainbow, Pulsing glow, Red alert, Flickering neon; plus Blur in, Black and white to colour, Bright flash, Blur out.
- Chat “skins”: Style panel › Chat, pick the layout (inline, columns with usernames on the left like TV shows, or bubbles), the font, a background for each message and an inner margin. The editor preview follows.
- 7 ready-made chat overlays in the library, Just Chatting family: TV set, frosted glass, neon, terminal, comic book, Twitch and cosy. A frame, a title, and your channel's messages inside.
- Library: 6 poll styles, 6 on-screen message styles and 5 new chat styles.
Improved
- A style made with a newer Régis is no longer “refused”: a friendly message tells you which version, with an “Update” button.
Fixed
- Régis closed by itself about ten seconds after starting, once Twitch was connected with channel point rewards. Fixed.
- Updates: “Install” did nothing if you took more than 3 seconds to answer “Yes” to Windows. Régis now asks for permission first and only closes afterwards: the new version installs and Régis restarts by itself.
v0.3.06 Polls, the chat inside Régis, and gradients fixed
Ask your audience with polls, put a chat message on stream in one click and moderate without leaving Régis. The gradient strip finally makes sense, added layers land in front like in OBS, and Twitch won't ask for your permission with every version anymore.
New
- Polls! Live › Poll (Ctrl+Shift+P), or double-click its layer: a separate window that doesn't block Régis. Write your question and up to 5 answers, start the vote: viewers type 1, 2, 3… in the chat, and the bars move live in the overlay. Automatic or manual stop, changing one's mind allowed or not, subscribers only, chat announcements; at the end, the winning answer lights up. New “Poll” layer with its styles, {sondage_question}, {sondage_tete} and {votants} variables, and a “Poll ended” alert.
- Your channel's chat inside Régis! Live › Channel chat (Ctrl+Shift+C): a separate window to put on your second screen. Next to each message, 📺 Show puts it on stream in the new “On-screen message” layer, with its author's picture and name: your audience knows which question you're answering. It goes away with a click or by itself after the chosen time. One-click moderation on hover (delete, 10-minute timeout, ban), other durations and unban on right-click, and you can write in the chat without leaving Régis.
- Share your creations: File › Share… (or right-click a screen or folder) sends them to regisenregie.fr. Pick up to 3 tags (Starting soon, Break, Just Chatting…) and write YOUR own tags: “CyberPunk”, Enter, a bubble (the × removes it). On the website you can click them to find a whole series. “Export as .regis” is still there for a plain file.
- Starting from someone else's creation? When you share your modified version, the website shows “Based on …” and credits the original author by itself. Nothing to do, nothing is blocked.
- In the library: 17 ready-made creations, with THEIR own sound. 5 countdowns (LCD, Arcade “FIGHT!”, Neon break, TV quiz, discreet pill: at 0:00 the ending screen takes over by itself), sub and raid alerts ready as soon as you add them, info bars with date and time, clocks and a live uptime timer.
- Countdown: at 0:00, Régis can switch your OBS scene by itself (your intro moves to the game scene). And in Settings › Live, choose what a new countdown does when it ends.
- A separate volume for alert sounds (Settings › Live, 70% by default), and the overlay's sound now has its own track in the OBS mixer when Régis sets up the overlay.
Improved
- Just like in OBS, a layer you add now lands at the top of the list, in front of the others: a text added to the starter kit is no longer hidden behind the background. A duplicated layer lands just above the original. Pasting several layers keeps their order, and undoing then redoing an addition puts it back in the right place.
- Twitch connection: Régis now asks at once for everything it will need (rewards, polls, predictions, subs, bits…). If your connection is older, a window offers it just once, with a button that does it all; nothing breaks in the meantime, and you won't be asked again with every update.
- Chat layer: a message deleted by a moderator, or those of a timed-out or banned viewer, now also disappear from your overlay.
- Channel point rewards: only the ones you tick trigger the screen (before, ticking none meant “all”).
- The mouse wheel no longer changes a drop-down list or number field you hover while scrolling a panel: click it first.
- Adding a style from the website: a single confirmation window instead of two; the result shows in the status bar.
- Library tab: creations fill the whole width, and the row of families no longer has a scroll bar (the mouse wheel slides it).
- Alerts added from the library arrive ready to fire; untick the option in Settings › Live to have them arrive switched off. And Share's “Also keep a copy” remembers your choice.
Fixed
- Gradients: the editing strip now shows the gradient as it appears on the shape. With a leftward angle, it was drawn backwards relative to its handles: dragging right pushed the color left. Adding a color is now a double-click on the strip (a single click used to add one by accident).
- Channel point rewards: a screen's settings window (the gear) now lists your rewards, like the Properties panel, and a reward detected during the stream shows up everywhere right away, Settings included.
- The Oxanium font (Régis's own) now shows in OBS too: it was offered in the font list, but OBS didn't have it and displayed another font.
- Imported countdown (.regis or library): “at 0:00, switch on this screen” now switches on the screen imported with it (it did nothing before).
v0.3.05 Giveaways, the Style panel, 3D and Styled text
All of a layer's visuals in a live Style panel, 3D on every layer, entrances and exits for screens and folders, layered gradients, a new “Styled text” layer, social logos in your colors, every channel point reward in your alerts, automatic backups, and a new loading screen.
New
- Giveaways! Live › Giveaway (Ctrl+Shift+T), or double-click its layer: a separate window that doesn't block Régis — open entries, viewers type !participer (or your keyword) in chat, and you draw the winner. Subscribers only, no mods, extra tickets for subscribers, automatic closing, troll removal, “draw another winner” if the first one doesn't answer. Régis announces the opening and the winner in chat. In the overlay, the new “Giveaway” layer shows the entrants coming in, scrolls through their names then reveals the winner; {gagnant} and {inscrits} work in every text, and “Giveaway winner” triggers your victory alerts. Real randomness, from the system.
- A countdown you can finally set, in texts and Styled texts alike: the duration (say 6 min 40, the length of your intro music) or a fixed time (“until 21:00”), and the end text. It starts when its screen turns on, it's the same in OBS, the preview and the phone, and a reload no longer resets it. And at 0:00, Régis can turn on the next screen: with “Switch OBS scenes automatically”, your intro switches to the live scene by itself. The length of a new countdown is set in Settings › Live.
- Screen and folder animations: an ENTRANCE when it turns on, an EXIT when it turns off (it really plays before it disappears — no more screens vanishing at once), and a CONTINUOUS animation while it's there. The same animations as layers (slide, zoom, pop, fade, float…), your favorites included, with their duration. Works for alerts too, and a ▶ shows them right away in the preview and OBS. In Properties, when a screen or folder is selected.
- 3D: tilt any layer (forward/back, left/right), move it toward you or back, and set the perspective depth (Properties › Geometry). It animates with keyframes, and the editor shows EXACTLY what OBS will display. New ready-made 3D animations, for layers as well as screens and folders: 3D flip, Tip in from the top, Opening door, 3D spin, 3D sway…
- LAYERED gradients: stack several gradients (“gradient1, gradient2…” like in CSS) and see the lower ones through transparent colors. Everywhere there's a gradient: shape fill and mask, and now the BACKGROUND of texts and the chat (solid color or gradient). + to add a layer, ▲▼ for the order, ✕ to remove it; your favorites keep all their layers.
- New “Styled text” layer: text drawn like a logo, for titles that pop. Its letters fill with a color or LAYERED GRADIENTS, get a real outline (outside the letters), and it keeps variables ({pseudo}, {heure}…) — perfect for a “THANKS {pseudo}!” alert. Font, size, letter spacing, ready-made styles (Gold, Cyan neon, Sunset, Twitch…), and of course 3D, finish and animations.
- Style panel: all the visuals of the selected layer in one place, and LIVE (no more “OK” to see the result). The essentials depend on the layer: font, size and color for a text; color and outline for a logo; colors for a shape or a QR code; and, at last, settings for the chat (size, colors, background, number of messages). Below, the shared finish: corners, border, shadow, glow, filters. Select several layers of the same type and set them all at once. “Go back to how it was” undoes everything you just tried, and Ctrl+Z works setting by setting. Double-click now only edits the content (the text, the link, the file).
- Icons, logos and drawings: pick their color and add an outline. One icon per logo, in any color you like. The color of new drawings is set in Settings › Editing › Default styles (empty = original colors). The outline always stays inside the layer's frame: no more cropped logo or cut-off glow.
- Style panel: saveable styles for drawings too (“White, black outline”, “Cyan neon”…) and for the chat (“Dark bubble”, “Big text”…), to keep, reuse and share. The chat style can also be the default one (Settings › Default styles).
- Sharing: your Styled text, chat, giveaway and icon styles can now be published on regisenregie.fr too (Share button of the style bar), with their preview on the site and in Régis' library. Everything you create can now live there and come back on any PC.
- Channel point rewards: ALL of them now trigger your alerts, even the ones that don't ask the viewer for text (“Hydrate”, “Switch camera”…). Their name is picked up on its own, no more typing it. Twitch asks for one more permission: redo “Twitch connection” once, Régis will remind you. The Twitch status tells what Régis receives (“rewards: all”).
- Automatic backups: while you work, Régis keeps a copy of your screens every 10 minutes (plus one a day for two weeks). File › Restore a backup to go back; and if a power cut damages your profile, Régis offers the latest copy right away.
- Library: logos for 34 networks and platforms for your “follow me on…” banners, in their own “Socials” filter: Twitch, YouTube, Kick, TikTok, Instagram, X, Twitter, Facebook, Threads, Bluesky, Discord, Patreon, Ko-fi, Streamlabs, PayPal, Buy Me a Coffee, Snapchat, Reddit, Steam, LinkedIn, Mastodon, Telegram, WhatsApp, Spotify, SoundCloud, Deezer, Apple Podcasts, Bandcamp, Pinterest, Linktree, Tumblr, GitHub, itch.io, VK. In their brand colors, or in yours.
Improved
- Writing with variables gets easy: type “{” and a list opens, filtered as you type, with an example for each piece of info (“Last sub — Zoé”). In the text, variables show as colored pills, and a misspelled one stands out in red. On the right, no more technical table: clickable pills sorted by theme, a search, and ready-made sentences (“Thanks {dernier_sub} for the sub!”…). Live info is filed under “Live”, and “Most talkative” has its own icon.
- New loading screen in Régis's colors: goodbye old brown banner, hello Régis on a night-blue background with his name in a blue → orange gradient; the progress fills the gradient line at the bottom, and the version is shown.
- “Preferences” becomes “Settings” (File › Settings), with new options: how often backups are made and how many are kept (plus a button to see them), whether to check for updates at startup, and the entrance and exit animations given to every new screen. In English, the layer “Settings” panel is now called “Properties”.
- Colors: Régis's bubble swatch (sliders, opacity, your favorite colors) replaces the Windows palette everywhere: shapes, QR codes, gradients, track color, theme. Every move applies right away.
- Library: pictograms get their own “Icons” filter, separate from “Drawings” (yours, the ones you add to your SVG folder).
- Twitch connection: once you're connected, the browser page takes you to regisenregie.fr instead of leaving a useless tab.
- “Stop all” (Ctrl+Shift+X) now tells what it did: how many alerts it removed from the screen and the queue — or that none was playing.
Fixed
- Shape masks: they did NOTHING in OBS or in the preview, whatever preset you picked. They finally work (white = visible, black = erased, grey = half transparent), and they now show in the editor too.
- Drop-down lists (fonts, alignment…) and number boxes have their little arrows back: you can finally see you can click to open them.
- Updating from Régis: the “Install” button could do nothing after Windows' permission prompt (the installer started before Régis had finished closing, and gave up). It now waits for Régis to close. And an interrupted download (flaky wifi) resumes where it stopped instead of failing.
- Panels come back at their EXACT size at startup (column widths, Style panel height), not just their place. The light line above the tabs is gone, and panel tabs get a little room below: you can see they belong to the panel above. New icons for Styled text and Giveaway.
v0.3.04 Appearance for everything, your branding by default, and screens that hand over to each other
Dress up any element (corners, border, shadow, neon glow, filters) and have it arrive in your branding right away. Screens hand over to each other on their own (Exclusive folder, the last one turned on goes in front), the screen list is clearer, and Régis starts faster.
New
- Help › Report a bug: describe the problem in a few words and it goes straight to the developer. You can attach the end of the log (your name and your PC's name are hidden) and see exactly what is sent. Offline, the report is kept so you can try again.
- Appearance for ALL elements (text, shape, image, video, YouTube, QR, chat, drawing): rounded corners, border (solid, dashed, dotted, double), shadow and neon glow. Under “More options”: blur, brightness, contrast, saturation, black and white, sepia, invert, hue, blend modes and frosted glass. On double-click (Appearance tab) or right in the Settings dock.
- Appearance styles: save your look (floppy disk) and reapply it in one click to any element. Five included (Rounded card, Neon, Orange frame, Retro, Black and white), and you can publish your own on regisenregie.fr.
- Default styles (Preferences › Editing): pick your text style, gradient, outline, QR style and appearance once, and every NEW element arrives in your branding right away. It follows your profile; an imported overlay keeps its own styles.
- Screen layer order: by default (Auto), the screen you turn on goes on top of the others. You can also set it to “Always in front” or “Always behind” in its settings.
- “Exclusive” folder: only one screen of the folder at a time. Turning Pause on turns Starting off automatically (from the eye, the Stream Deck or a trigger). Alerts are not affected.
Improved
- Updates without the wizard: one click on “Install”, one “Yes” to Windows, and Régis closes, installs and comes back on its own. No more windows to click through. Your profiles and screens stay as they are.
- Régis starts up to 30% faster and the app is smoother.
- Live overlay: the local server has been rebuilt. Every change reaches OBS in under a millisecond, even with OBS, the preview and your phone connected at once.
- Lighter install: the app goes from 287 to 223 MB once installed (unused parts of Qt and Chromium were removed).
- Faster shutdown, even while overlays are still open in OBS.
- The word “Profile” is back: your space in Régis (your screens, your settings) is called a profile again, not a “project”.
- Your regisenregie.fr account is now called “My account” (Live menu, Library, publishing): no more mix-up with your Régis profile.
- Settings dock: the “Layer” field (which the list kept overwriting) is replaced by ▲ Forward / ▼ Backward, which really move the element in the list.
- Screen list redrawn: clean rows instead of little boxes, a green bar on the screen that is on air, screens that are off (and their elements) dimmed, “Alert”, “Exclusive” and ▲/▼ layer badges. The open padlock only shows on hover.
- Clicking an element of another screen in the list opens that screen and selects the element: its settings show right away.
Fixed
- No more random “cannot switch to a different thread” crashes when the chat, the server and the app were busy at the same time.
- Dragging an element from one screen to another in the tree kept the element but lost its animation: its keyframes now follow it (and come back with Ctrl+Z).
- Undoing (Ctrl+Z) moving an element up the list did nothing.
v0.3.03 Getting-started guide, native library and a simpler Régis
An overlay on air in minutes, no manual needed: the guide connects Twitch and OBS and adds your starter kit. And Régis speaks more plainly.
New
- Getting-started guide: your platform, Twitch in one button (nothing to type), your starter kit and OBS, step by step. It opens on first launch, then from Help › Getting started.
- Starter kit: three ready-made screens, “Starting soon” (with a countdown), “Break” and “Ending”, animated and with your name. One Ctrl+Z removes them.
- OBS in one click: “Where do you want Régis to show?” — tick your OBS scenes and Régis is added on top (a single “Régis – Overlay” source). Nothing else is changed, and doing it again creates no duplicate.
- Twitch, OBS, Site and Overlay lights at the bottom of the window: green when all is well, and one click fixes what isn't.
- An empty project suggests where to start: the starter kit, a new screen, the library or the guide.
- Native library: the Library tab shows the website's creations as thumbnails, with search, sorting and filters. “+ Add” puts them in your project in one click, no browser needed. “My profile” opens your website account in the same tab.
-
Drag an image, a GIF, a video or a sound onto the editor: the right layer appears, at the file's size, with no window at all. Works from Explorer and from your browser.
- Several files at once: a single Ctrl+Z removes them all.
- A format OBS can't play (.mov, .avi…) is refused, with the reason in the status bar.
- Dropping a .regis file adds its screen straight away.
- Ctrl+V in the editor pastes what you copied elsewhere: a screenshot becomes an image, an image link is downloaded, a page link becomes a QR code, text becomes a Title layer.
-
New ready-to-drag texts in “Texts”: Last subscriber, Last bits, Top bits of the stream, Last raid, New in chat, First of the stream, Top chatter, Last message, Stream totals, Stream uptime, Countdown. Nothing to type.
- The last sub, raid, cheerer and newcomer are remembered: they still show when your next stream starts.
-
New “Events” tab: your stream's activity feed, like on Twitch — every sub, bits, gift, raid and newcomer, with name and time. It updates by itself, and chips filter by kind.
- The stream recap shows its timeline, and every event is kept: ready for charts later.
- 20 subs gifted at once make ONE line, not twenty.
-
New “YouTube player” layer, for react streams: paste a YouTube link onto the editor (Ctrl+V) and the player appears. The video plays when the screen turns on and pauses when it turns off.
- Videos, shorts, lives and playlists; the link's timestamp (t=1m30s) is kept; loop, mute, volume, YouTube bar on double-click.
- Live › Sign in to the website on my phone: a QR code to scan, and your phone lands on regisenregie.fr already signed in (for 30 days).
- Preferences: new “Drag, drop and paste” page (page link → QR code, text or nothing; pasting text; image size) and “Live info and events” page (remember last sub/raid/bits; first messages in Events).
-
Much richer borders: style (solid, dashed, dotted, double, glowing neon), pick which sides (an underline, a bar on the left…) and rounding set corner by corner.
- New built-in borders: Twitch neon, Cyan neon, Dotted, Dashed, Golden double, Underline, Left bar, Tab, Bubble.
- Replay animations WITHOUT F5: “▶ Replay” button in the Animation dock, next to “Animations” (and Live › Replay animations, Ctrl+Shift+R). It replays in the preview AND in OBS. And a screen you turn back on now replays its animations from the start.
Improved
- Régis connects to OBS on launch by default: if OBS is open it connects; if closed, it waits quietly and connects as soon as you open it.
- Régis speaks more plainly: scenes become screens, the remote becomes the Stream Deck, profiles become projects, keys become keyframes.
- A new screen gets its Stream Deck button, ticked by default.
- Library: “Open this page in the browser” now opens it ALREADY signed in, on the same page (no need to sign in again in Firefox or Chrome).
- Guide, OBS step: your OBS scenes show up even if OBS was already connected, and a “Test” button switches Break on for 5 seconds so you see Régis appear in OBS.
- Discreet updates: no more big window on launch. A small “Update” button appears at the bottom; one click downloads it in the background (you can keep streaming), a second one installs it.
- Animation panel: keyframe buttons on top, “Animations ▾” below at their full width, arrow properly centred.
- Live info texts (Last sub, Last bits…) now live in “Live elements”, next to the Twitch chat.
- The style bar, redone: a floppy disk to save (you type the name in place), the bin in two clicks, and a real “Publish” button that puts your style online in one click. No more windows.
Fixed
- English: the history (undo / redo) and the startup screen are finally translated.
- Closing Régis while it is connected to OBS no longer shows an error window.
- Closing Régis no longer flashes an error message.
- A layer at 0% opacity (the start of a fade) can be selected in the editor again: it stays faintly visible there, and invisible in the overlay.
- In English, the reasons a file is refused (format, size…) are finally shown in English.
- The “Chat stats” and “Stream recap” pages are now in English too (text, dates, numbers).
- No more flash when the overlay loads: the page waits until it is ready (images, positions) before appearing, and animations all start at that moment. A large image no longer shows up huge for a split second.
- “Last sub”, “Last bits”… texts now show up in the overlay (they came out empty).
- “Back and forth” really does there AND back: before, “1 time” only played the way there and the layer stayed at the end.
v0.3.02 Library inside Régis, OBS control and Stream Deck window
New
- Share button in favourite bars: a gradient, an animation, a colour… becomes a .regis file to send or publish on the website.
- “Add to Régis”: one click on the website and the item lands in the app (regis:// link, file verified before import).
- Opening a style .regis adds it to your favourites, in the right list, without replacing anything.
- Your regisenregie.fr account is your Twitch: one question, then Régis signs you in to the website on its own (Live › My profile on the website opens your profile already signed in).
- Publish on your regisenregie.fr profile straight from Share or Export as .regis: no need to keep a file. Styles go live immediately, overlays after review.
- Régis drives OBS: when you turn on an On/Off scene (its eye or the remote), OBS shows the scene you linked to it. Alerts never switch the OBS scene (Live › OBS connection, then Live › Drive OBS).
- The Stream Deck in its own window (Live › Stream Deck): put it on your second screen, no browser needed, and it doesn't steal your game's focus. It reopens at launch if it was open.
- New Library tab: the regisenregie.fr library right inside Régis, already signed in. “Add to Régis” imports in one click, and your profile opens in the same place.
- The “Preview” tab becomes “Live”: the overlay as OBS sees it, the Stream Deck, chat stats and stream recap, in tabs, without opening the browser.
- An icon toolbar: grid, snap, server, alerts, “Stop all”, Stream Deck and “Drive OBS” one click away.
Improved
- File › Import a .regis file opens overlays and styles alike.
- New heart icon to save a favourite.
- On/Off scene or alert, you choose right when you create it: two buttons in the scene tree, an orange bell to spot alerts, and a “Scene type” switch at the top of the inspector.
- Redesigned preferences: a menu on the left with categories and sub-categories (Appearance › Theme, Live › Triggers…), like in OBS or VLC.
- Making your own theme is much simpler: five colours (background, text, icons, accent, secondary), Régis works out the rest. New “Régis (orange)” theme.
- Copying and pasting an animation is now a right-click on the track, in the timeline (Ctrl+Alt+C / Ctrl+Alt+V still work).
- The Animation dock goes from precise to global: the time, a real Keys block (ready-made animations, previous / next key, add, delete, copy, paste, duplicate), the selected layer, and on the right the scene and zoom.
Fixed
- The "Update available" window now scrolls its notes: the "Download" button no longer goes off-screen.
- Random “cannot switch to a different thread” crash when the OBS server, Twitch chat and the website connection were busy at the same time.
- The window can shrink again: the Animation dock, the Live tab and the Library tab no longer force a huge width.
- A scene's wait now really hides it until it starts (it used to sit frozen on screen), and “At the end: disappears” removes it after its duration. A scene turned back on restarts from zero.
v0.3.01 Alerts, remote and sharing
New
- Twitch alerts: subs, raids, bits, rewards…
- Phone remote.
- Sound and Video layers.
- 24 ready-made animations.
- Share overlays as .regis files.
- QR code layer.
- Full text styling and favorite colors.
Improved
- Régis fully in English.
Fixed
- Many fixes.
